Why did we price the Vinci mandate this way two years ago?

The pricing was set in March 2024 at a fixed fee below the usual grid. Three factors drove the decision:

Vinci was a strategic reference for the infrastructure practice; the partners accepted a lower margin to anchor the relationship.
The scope excluded fieldwork. Delivery was planned on existing 2023 diligence material, cutting the estimated effort by roughly a third.
A rate escalator was added for the second phase, which is where the margin was planned to recover.

The reasoning was recorded in the pricing committee meeting of 12 March 2024 and confirmed in the engagement letter.
